I learned about this concept in school last semester and found it absolutely fascinating! And slightly humbling that it hadn’t occurred to me before. Have you ever wondered why fruit or vegetables are more expensive different times of the year? That’s because produce is cheaper when it’s grown and picked in its natural season, when it’s most abundant (they taste better then, too!). Shopping in season is great for the wallet, and gives you an opportunity to explore items maybe you wouldn’t have considered otherwise.
